    Bio

Wayne is Daren Sprawls and Ryan Kasmiskie, and in the past it included Derek Dobbs, and hopefully will one day will again, but he moved to Arizona. We miss you Derek.

Daren and Ryan started recording the self titled album in 2011. They began by trading some pre recorded drones and odds and ends, and building on them in Daren's home studio near LACC in Los Angeles. They completed mixing and published to Band Camp in 2012.

In 2013 they played their first live show in Daren's home town, Blythe California, reworking the album material for performance. The show was associated with the Ghost Island desert music scene and included several other local acts.

In 2014 Daren created the sound track for the independent film Butterfly killers under the Wayne moniker.

After this the project was on unofficial hiatus until a party in 2018 when they decided to get together just to jam. At this point the project took on a live improvisational element that has remained the focus to this day.

For this re approach of the project Daren invited his childhood friend and accomplished composer, multi instrumentalist and arborist Derek Dobbs to join the sessions.

This quickly became the most productive period for the band to date, including a dozen shows, two more albums, Work is Death and III, and the live album Live and on purpose.

Derek temporarily left the band in 2019. It remains to be seen when he will return.

Since then Daren and Ryan have resumed recording, meeting every few months at a rehearsal space by the LA river to continue the process they began in 2009.
